  • Intended to buy the pork belly for my annual Christmas porchetta this weekend and the price of meat appears to have gone mad.

    Last year I cheated and bought a pre roll from h&s on Broadway market and this year they're charging the same price for the unprepped cut.

  • For real?! I’ve been using Phillip Warren since 2020 for Xmas - their quality is great, you can WhatsApp the butcher and the price is really fair. Might be too late for delivery now though

  • Yeah I think their cut-off was like the 1st or something silly.
    We swapped from Barfields when we were in Brighton to PW when we moved down here - solid recommend. They'll do exactly what you need in terms of prep. And if you go in to collect they've got hella pasties.

  • I didn't know who to use for online delivery tbh, I always just leave it way too late and then scramble around to find a decent butcher.

    I think there's a good place on Chatsworth road who will do me a 5kg pork belly, going for a hybrid of the original hill & szrok recipe I've been using for years and the Kenji recipe. (Non - oil pouring Kenji recipe)
