• Maybe you've sorted this by now. If not, maybe try this... with the tyre fully deflated, you need to take up the slack to get enough leverage to get the bead off of the rim. So get a multitool or a pair of tyre levers and wrap it in a rag (so that you don't mark the rim). Wrap the tyre around the multitool and pull down. A satisfying pop usually results and then you can ease the rest of the bead off of the rim with your thumbs.

    I already put the wheel in the bathtub, but didn't do more then rinse and repeat with bath foam and that didn't do the trick. But the stiff brush thing sounds good.
