Yeah sorry I could have been more useful. My best success was 32c Jack Brown something's under 45mm longboards. I think their square-ish shape helped. A tad tight for winter riding for my liking though. The hammered Velo Orange's roundness gave problems esp at the fork crown even with daruma nut I'd loctighted and filed down, so only got up to 30c.
So, PDWs being a bit square is deffo the right direction. Brother seem to have specced the fork and brake bridge for long drop calliper brakes which is the limiting factor.
