We are using this on a job I am on now. You give them the coverage you need and use all the paint in even coats( a white base coat ) then go over the top with a RAL coloured top coat.

As mentioned in that link it is hard to get a good finish without spraying, but from our samples the architect chose the foam roller sample as this was the smoothest finish without spraying

Someone asked about intumescent paint for exposed steel beams that complies with building regs recently, but I can’t find the post now, and would like to parrot the same question.
What’s out there for this purpose (RAL fire retardant paint for steel)?
