Thanks all, it’s a pretty good life we’re living right now. Not always a holiday but there’s a lot of magic coming our way and we’re very thankful to be doing this trip.
It’s also confirmed my feeling that bike touring is the pinnacle of travel and that everyone should go on a tour (long or short, local or far flung).
I’m very excited about the road ahead, we’ll be getting in to some real wilderness and the scale of the landscapes is going to be huge. We’ve had a few of these moments in Colombia already but things are only going to get bigger. Elevations in Ecuador are regularly 4000m+ so I hope our legs and lungs are feeling strong by then, so far anything over 3500m has proved to be a real slog.
