But that is not a heritage, that's playing catch up in a niche of a niche industry.
Once upon a time all bike were made of steel and there were manufacturers all over the place embedded in an rich network of local suppliers of tubing, components etc.
That's all gone in the west but it has moved to Asia, there are whole cities build around certain industries, first Taiwan now China. Just look at the amount of Chinese brands popping up with similar carbon wheels, frames and components, that's because they are all pretty much neighbours.
