• I am kind of confused about the discussion. This has been the standard for decades, there might be some boutique brands like Sarto or Alchemy but the real heritage manufacturing for composites is in Asia.

  • This is the confusion caused by the bike brands, they don’t want to say it’s an open mold frame made in the same factory as everyone else’s so they buy/invent a European history.

    I think that's a bit of an exaggeration. There are quite a few high end firms investing in cf manufacturing in the west.

    The US is giving colossal subsidies to domestic manufacturing so they can reduce reliance on China. They're starting with green industries https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-64405020 but maybe in due course there will be a shift in composites?
