If you're streaming music maybe look for a receiver that does streaming. It wasn't a feature I ever thought I'd use as I've been like "I'll just buy the music", but actually it's probably the feature I use the most along (after getting tidal) with the optical in for the TV. Bluetooth sounds a bit dead to me TBH and I'll only use it as a last resort. I get you on the cables, I went from a NAD with an airport express, Bluetooth receiver, phono stage, optical dac to having it all built in in this Onkyo. It's freed up a lot plug sockets if nothing else.
If you're struggling for space some older Japanese hifi components are half the depth of what I'd consider to be normal these days.
