Ha, I like this sentiment. This is the first time I've ever nipped up the preload screw after tightening the steerer clamp bolts.
I hadn't realised the Swiss cheese gubbins is one of your own creations? Drillium would obviously be a must.
For surface prep, would something like 400 grit wet and dry paper do for keying the inside of the steerer?
