• Have the cats actually been going for the cones? Ours thankfully ignores my Tannoys. He did put his claws in the grill cloth at first but I prefer them without the grills anyway so everyone’s happy.

  • Yes, actual claws touched cones and a small nik in one... but then he went back repeatedly to try again as to him it sounds like cardboard which he loves.

    Cost to replace cones: 1/2 the cost of a single speaker and extraordinary wait times and hassle.
    Cost to cat proof speakers behind brass mesh in a custom walnut housing by a carpenter: 1/10 the cost of a single speaker and done fairly quickly (once a carpenter was found) and I love the look it will produce.
