I used spds for several years whilst commuting through London. Never felt any different to any other bike with clipless pedals to be honest, I quite liked it. Can’t fold the pedals obviously but I really didn’t like the stock pedals so was happy with this drawback. Didn’t have any greater or lesser chance of catching my heal than on normal pedals, but smaller feet so YMMV.
Have changed back to (non folding) flats as its used less for commuting and more for convenience so knowing I can just ride in any shoes works better.

Has anyone got experience of riding clipless on a Brompton? I've read a post about pedal asysmetry causing knee issues, is this a thing? Its for some touring rather than regular commuting
I've done over 4500km on a Brompton with SPDs. No problems with them so far, except when my right hand XTR pedal failed and the pedal body came off the spindle.
