check your contract. In my virgin internet contract notification of a price rise gives me 30 days to cancel the contract free of charge so you might be in luck and just be able to tell them to fuck off.

I got virgin down to £1.40 a month rise which I can just about live with but wasted everyone's time

... that I need to call Vodafone to find out how much it costs to cancel, mid-contract. Not only am I on a shit data deal, but they just sent me a message to tell me that from 1st April my rate will go up in line with CPI (10.5%) plus an additional 3.9%.
