  • My buddy needed to borrow my workshop to make his Surly winter ready so we had a chill evening in the workshop sipping on fine beer and tinkering. I managed to remove the clicking noises from my winter bike and started get the Boat Anchor back together again.
    I took off the purple bits and replaced with black, swapped the very heavy steel bars and chunky stem out for less chunky but still chunky Thomson stem and much lighter Stooge moto bars.

    I was going to swap out drivetrain parts to get a bigger gear range but the cogs and chainring are actually still in a good nick so I'll wait till next summer.

    It sort of needs mudguards to be really useful, in Danish winter season at least.
    I might use a bit for commuting but really it is calling for spring/summer overnighters and off road tours.
