Hardtail probably best, the marked trails are relatively tame. A couple of fun sections in the middle but mostly quite 'XC' I'd say.
Fun for an hour or two if you're passing (it's near my in-laws') but not worth traveling far to visit IMO.
It does have a newish 'freeride' area that may be worth investigating if that's your sort of thing.

Next week I have to go to Guildford on Thursday. Am contemplating visiting my sister in west London Thursday evening and on my return home dropping in to Swinley Forest on the Friday. It’s been years since I last rode there. How is it these days, should I take full sus trail bike or a hardtail?
@howard or @umop3pisdn are you free on the 30th for a ride for old times sake?
