Anker USB C Hub, 341 USB-C Hub (7-in-1) with 4K HDMI, 100W Power Delivery, USB-C and 2 USB-A 5 Gbps Data Ports, microSD and SD Card Reader, for MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, XPS, and More https://amzn.eu/d/1syfqsm
Dreams of one-cable minimalism have been thwarted.
A 65w charger into my Anker hub ends up being 50w apparently. Which shouldn't be a problem from a power POV, except that if I'm away from my laptop for a bit - lunch, long coffee, etc. then my laptop has some sort of wobble and wants to restart in safe mode and apparently you need to have 65w to run bios.
Idk if this is the laptop vs hub, laptop vs new screen, laptop vs client's portal, or some combo of the above. Either way it's safe to say that it's just easier to plug in a power cable.
On the plus I've discovered the default settings allow you to run the laptop closed when plugged into the thunderbolt. Not that I do it very often, but still.
