That's not going to be the production cost though, it says a small run will be made first and that doesn't sound unreasonable to cover their time and costs.
I really like the idea and if I had a suitable bike already, it would be a cool option to have instead of shelling out for a whole bike.

Difficult sell when you can get a soma tradesman frameset for less (ish).

Nice design. Looks like a cargo headtube extension rather than a fork like the other options. A grand though
