The Salsa bottle cage is just a good cage and it has slots for the hose clamps so they work well together. The Strapdeck is very light and slim, so it's always on the bike at home too and I don't have to worry about it catching on rocks and logs when it's empty, but any other cargo cage would probably carry the bottle as well.
I'd need to use a smaller bag to have any space to use a dropper and in SRMR I would not have had that much use for one, but it would be nice, I might get a Valais too or a small bag that doesn't need one.
