Next up is converting to 8 speed, mainly because chains and cassettes are cheaper and longer lasting, and I have no need for 9. I need some lower gears - not sure whether to go for 32T or 34T large cog. Some people complain the jump to the largest cog is too high.
I had this old RSX long cage derailleur in my parts and luckily found a matching pinch bolt. Ordered some new 10T jockey wheels and gave it a clean. Looks as good as new and weighs the same as modern deore :) Edit - need to find an M4 allen nut for the pinch bolt, if that's a thing that exists. Edit - it's M5.
