Talking of friction shifters, I've joined the down tube ratchet friction brigade. The reach is a bit far from the top bars but otherwise they're great.
I'm super happy with the new forks and the rack mods are perfect - the low-riders are low and the cable hanger is neat. The 26x42 front tyre feels lovely over all surfaces and steering is much lighter. Maybe we could have gone a touch further with the rake - it's around 55mm - but more wasn't physically possible because the braze-ons got in the way of the tool. The steep seat tube is noticeable but hasn't been a problem.
