Desperate to do this. Couple of swords I'm loving but they need the upgrades!!
Also was thinking of respec as I'm thinking a strength build is too slow...

I did a str + dex build at first using the bloodhound curved sword that you get from one of the gaol bosses quite early on. I wanted to try out some different weapons but none were at good for dex scaling or bloodloss. Now I'm doing a dex+arc build with the rivers of blood sword and cloud of flies to proc bloodloss. Much squishier but can do huge spikes of damage

Once you get to the area after leyendell you can find all the bells to give the vendor to buy both types of smithing stones up to +9 and +24. I've respecced a few times just to try stuff out, if you do it make a note of exactly what the requirements for the weapons and spells you want to use are cos once you're in that menu you can't check
