I have tried that a few times in Registax but the shape changes so much that it ends up as a mush.

You want lucky imaging! You'll need some method to select the best images. Throw 90% away and shift-and-add the rest

You can see it rotating by the looks of it? So maybe the won't stack up brilliantly, but I'm sure you could get something pretty good
