Maybe that second part is actually threaded for the thru-axle and is 'supposed' to remain in the frame (like my Tripster)

Have you tried messaging i-ride? Although i have in the past about some 3t spares and found them unresponsive. Had to go to a shop and get them to enquire for me via their trade account and they did have the parts available despite not being listed on their spares page.
