Is it last seasons version; Quilted through the whole jacket, with stitching on the outside? If so, it came with a separate stuff sack for the jacket, hence not having the double-sided zipper/running length of pocket. Can't promise, but might be able to find one for you if useful.
The latest version does have a double-sided-zip and pocket is designed to pack-away/no stuff-sack ....I prefer to roll mine into the hood to save faff (and potentially stressing details as you highlight), unless it needs to stash really neat & tidy.
