How many links are on the rival chain? What sort of wear/miles does it have?

Tempted by the chain and ring for the possibility of 1x in the future

106 links. Both the chainring and chain came with a second hand groupset which was described as having had 500 miles of use.

I'll hold out for now thanks, the chain is probably too short for the cassette I'd be using.
