You can just name the new mesh the same and use the same password (and decommission the existing Wi-Fi).
They’ll have to change nothing.
I thought about that, but worried what happens when (not if) they press the factory reset button on the router...
I guess the worst is they just end up with an un-meshed node, no worse than they have today?
It might get confused in that scenario but if they’re as un-savvy as you say, would they even know how to reset it? It would need a factory reset; power cycling it wouldn’t bring back the old network.
