I'm riding a fixie/pub bike as a commuting bike. It's a sort of junk bike, but it's fairly fast and everything seems to work fine...except, the front chainring is a one piece crank/chainring (can't change chainring) that came from a geared bike. The teeth are not too tall and I've thrown the chain a couple of times running a normally acceptable amount of slack. Got chain in peak tension but don't trust the chain ring. Would a MTB chain guide be a viable solution, anyone ever tried this? No intention of running a slack chain, just some added insurance.
