• Jetboils are big and heavy, but quick to boil water.
Canisters can be refilled using little adapter valve things.
Meths is good and light for a couple of brews' worth, but beyond about 150ml of meths the weight of a can of gas is similar and will last much longer.

For two of you, I'd suggest something like a 650ml mug. A small gas canister will fit inside this, along with a stove. If you can fill any remaining space with teabags, dishcloth etc. that will help to prevent rattling. Make a windshield out of thick aluminium foil or similar.

Do you mean refilling disposable canisters? I’ve heard of it but never seen it done.

The stove linked is a, I believe, a copy of the MSR one I have, although it’s 30g lighter (!). It’s basically a blow torch. On low output it’s a quiet rumble, on highest output it’s surprisingly loud, again like hot air balloons. The main issue with the design is that the centre of gravity is quite high, so even on grass with no wind it can be a trick to get your pot full of water comfortably balanced. Obviously it can be done, but if someone has shaky hands I’d not recommend it.

Landslide’s suggestions on how to pack it and to use a foil windshield are pro tips.
