I hate neck pain. Recently found out that my long term enck niggles aren't in fact postural but a result of arthritis in my neck. Usually not a bother but when it flares up I can barely move.
Ibuprofen, paracetamol, tramadol, codeine...nothing really works. A hot water bottle takes the edge off a bit. Given that this only makes me feel like shit for a couple of days at a time I have a newfound respect for people who live with proper chronic pain.
I don’t have arthritis (I don’t think) but I live with old injuries around my neck/shoulder area. Mentholatum ointments are what sometimes help take the edge off and allow me to drive my shift. I have a Chinese made version but I think they’re all pretty similar.
