• I was in the far west of cornwall until yesterday.
The place is awash with tourists coughing their lungs out. The campsite I was in had at least three people with the classic Corona upper chest cough, hacking their way through each night.

    It was grim.

St.Ives was absolutely packed. Coughing everywhere. I saw a good few shops and cafes were closed with signs taped on their windows saying they were closed due to coronavirus.

I'm essentially isolating now and testing every other day as a precaution.

  • Am just wondering, were you there when lockdown was eased for last july? Friends who live in Devon and Cornwall said that there were alot more people there and on the beeches with little social distancing and masks back then....but masks weren't compulsory...

  • In South Devon, there definitely seems to be fewer people this time around, having said that, the traffic has been pretty horrendous. Last week we did a Thur/Fri/Sat stay at a tiny (6 pitch) campsite in North Devon for the first time in a year, so partner could work on her anxiety exposure therapy, and judging from the number of new tents/rookie camping errors, I think that a lot of people had planned on Portugal then got the rug pulled, and were left with not a lot of options.
