Similar thing happened to my mate and his sister when we were teenagers. They had gone to some expensive private orthodontist who decided they both needed absolutely everything doing, removing a bunch of teeth, the works. Their mum got a second opinion a bit later and it turned out almost all of it was unneccessary so she sued them and they settled out of court for a massive amount of money. The orthodontist is still there today.

This guy was my childhood dentist, still having his work corrected at the age of 39. Maybe one of my many fillings were ever actually necessary.

Oddly, I'm not scared or anxious about dentists as a result. Maybe because I'm just so fucked off by the whole thing. Like it has desensitised me.
