  • That seems to be the suggestion. So far as I can gather they didn't do any campaigning and this will be reciprocated in a few weeks.

    If I were Labour HQ, I'd be running with that, as the other explanation is "we did really shit", so talk it up as "it was just as planned"

  • I heard it from someone involved with the Lib Dems rather than Labour. Not sure how accurate it is but obviously no real benefit for the Lib Dems to talk down Labour's efforts.

  • If there was an alliance, surely you'd have had to have let it be known beforehand to - you know- actually stop your supporters voting for you and transfer their vote instead.

    It wouldn't be enough, for example, for me to fail to notice Labour campaigning in my local election to make me vote for a lib dem instead. I doubt I'd even notice tbh.

    If they'd have done that before the vote, I'm sure we'd know
