  • I find the whole notion of smart/formal/casual etc impossible as it seems so subjective to me. My brother in law only ever wears: a work suit, golf clothing or smart casual (shirts and polos tucked into jeans and sheaux). He simply cannot understand someone over the age of 25 dressing casually, and as a result seems to be borderline disgusted at me and my brothers’ clothing choices at family events - much to our amusement of course.

Same goes for pals who have to dress smartly for work. If you wear a suit daily, it probably doesn’t feel that smart, so dressing smart usually means very smart. Where as I’m used to wearing work gear, anything without contaminants all over it is pretty much formal wear.

  • Currently dressed for work: t-shirt from 2008 London 2 Paris, shorts that used to be black, purchased 20 years ago in Oz, no shoes.

    = Aussie formal wear.

  • We're currently experiencing our week of winter so it's hilarious to see Australians in hats, coats, jeans... And flip-flops...

Or thongs, if you prefer... Best week of the year...
