For sale I have this beautiful 'ladies' 1991 GT Talera with white marbled paint that I've spent the last month restoring. Its had 1 owner and as the frame stickers indicate, it was bought from Young's Cycles on Lee High Road, Lewisham.
This lovely little ripper features the original Exage LX300 3X7 drivetrain. Incredibly the original 7 speed cassette hasn't even touched wear so this is almost as original as this bike could get. The LX300 drivetrain features the original biopace chainrings and early 7 speed thumb shifters that are evidently primitive and clunky, but work womderdully and are quite the novelty I find! This has been topped off with a new KMC X8 chain and new white Shimano outer cable and halt super-slick gear inner cables.
The brake setup consists of BR-M201 cantilever x u - brake that also work a treat. I've added a new straddle wire and cradle to the front brake as the old one was far too rusty and new halt super-slick brake inner cables all round.
The frame has been treatedwith t-cut and waxed to remove as much cosmetic rust as possible, however you will still notice this is not quite perfect - it looks great from a short distance though!
The wheels are Araya VP-20 rims laced to Exage HB-RM50 hubs. These have been stripped, cleaned and re-packed so run very smoothly for many moons to come!
To top the restoration off the bike has been treated to some black ODI long neck grips and some Schwalbe City Jet 1.95 tan wall tyres. This little ripper looks, great, is comfortable and basic so shouldn't burn the bank to maintain!
It's essentially a brand new bike compared to what it was, I've attached a photo of how I bought it to show how much effort has gone into restoring it. This would make a great little commuter / run around for someone or their Mrs!
I would like to get £200 for it, but if I'm way off the mark please let me know! I'm also open to sensible offers.
