Myself for looking at Strava.
Indeed, if it pisses you off them unfollow the person or stop looking at other people's activities.
I had a cull a while back and unfollowed anyone I actually wasn't interested in. The dashboard is much better to look at as I'm genuinely interested in what the people I'm following are actually doing.

People who are calorie counting for weight loss often upload strength activities to get a better picture of their calorie burn too.
If you have garmin connect and strava linked it'll auto upload all activities so it might not be a deliberate thing.
