• Good trick for initial inspection is to tap gently on and near the damage with a coin. If it’s buggered, it will make a dull ‘thunk’ and will feel like you’re tapping on hard rubber. Compare with the healthy carbon around it, which should make a sharp ‘clank’ and will feel like the coin is hitting a hard surface.

    Edit- if you’re concerned, a pro inspection isn’t a bad idea, and it’ll be cheaper than the dental bills from a fork failing on you at speed...
