I wonder what the difference between that and all the other ~£250 Boch ones for Mercs are?

All the merc battery is a merc label battery as merc don't make batteries.

Just get a decent brand calcium battery with a 5 year guarantee and don't worry about it.

Note that some cars need to be informed that the battery has been replaced.
