develop dominance issues
My friend Ray has a really hard time neutering his dogs because he empathises a little too closely with them. His first Vizla got to about 2 years old unneutered and was a fucking nightmare...used to run off across th epark and hump any female it could find and constantly fought with other male dogs. Sadly this dog died from a sudden heart attack. His next Viz also went two years without being neutered and had exactly the same negative behavoural traits. Thankfully, once he got him done, it calmed down a lot. Still a bit of a liability but a lot more manageable.
Not suggesting that the behavoural problems were entirely down to not being neutered as Ray is particularly soft with his dogs but I do think it made things much worse. He has certainly decided that he will get any future dogs done early. One of the final straws was when both of his dogs would constantly try to hump his daughter.

Did my Otto (Mini Schnauzer) at 6 months when he had stopped growing, he had tried to hump a couple of inanimate objects at that point.
I was told it's a good idea to do schnauzers as soon as they have stopped growing as they can develop dominance issues and I didn't want him trying to move up in the pecking order over my daughter.
