Shortlist on appliances is basically all Miele:
No-one pays RRP when you make a purchase like this, so ignore the price tags... or at least, estimate a buy 5 get 1 free kinda thing. Yeah, it's still pricey... but meh.
The hood and hob work together... the hood silently turning on over the part of the hob in use, and adjusting speed according to the heat of that hob, etc.
