I don't see why you should. Why not get another 105 rear derailleur? They're quite cheap and work great.
Yeah, I’ll probably go for that one if I can find one secondhand, just have the snapped one still in the back of my head and am wondering if it’s my bad for taking it off-road
Well, I don't know how it snapped, but MTB derailleurs are not immune to snapping or anything.
