We're back to the ridiculously macho names for fishing gear again.... I await the release of the 14' MegadeathRayArmageddon XLR with 80mm ring and laser bomb sight.
Wychwood gear is generally very good, I use their 1 3/4lb barbel for most things except big carp and pike, their 3lb carp for light bass work and their lightweight fly reels for most river trouting. There is an exception; if you buy their fixed spools, deposit them instantly in the nearest bin as you'll be doing so within months anyway.
Pullingteth: they're absolutely used to surface food, just in pellet form!
I did float a reasonable mayfly over the nose of one and it didn’t move, 2 secs later an actual mayfly dipped onto the surface and struggled, so obviously alive and tasty .. trout didn’t take that either , so I felt a bit better .
It’s a nice place to fish mind
