  • I think it was @hoops who was praising Sturdy, so I've been awaiting this with interest. I really like what he's doing, especially with the 3d printing, but from an aesthetic point of view I find the difference in finish between the brushed ti tubes and the printed lugs a bit challenging.

    That said, it looks fantastic in that first picture so maybe I need to get over myself.

  • I quite like the contrasting finishes it was one of the appeals. He's working on making the finish seamless by polishing the lugs and joints. I think a few customers behind me in the queue asked for that finish so it'll be interesting to see how it comes out.

  • Getting a really solid result on a 3D printed piece of ti is quite difficult as there's quite a lot of small dimples in there. I've seen some examples of polished 3D printed ti before and I wasn't blown away to be honest. I think you made the right choice by staying with this finish as the end result is homogeneous.
