  • I do 3dmax + vray stuff. concepts for exhibitions, mainly interiors but some exterior stuff and some product and furniture bits n bobs.

I've been doing some daylight simulation stuff over the last week, checking out Lux levels in a new building that's at the planning stage to see if light levels are adequate for projections.
sounds nerdy but I've found it quite interesting.

  • That's cool, I work for an Architect and I'm interested in the more functional possibilities of Max. They were doing a light study recently and I was keen to get involved but was too busy at the time.

  • the light sim stuff was a combo of the daylight system in max with a Lux calculation render element in vray. (using vray sun + sky)
vray rendering is based on real world values so I'm hoping it's accurate enough.
it's quite clever as it can overlay the light study as a grid of values over a base render.
