Why?
Complete assembly prices from the main online retail sites are based on the huge discounts they get by buying OEM stream product from Shimano (or SRAM or Campag). There are no such discounts on spare parts. Hence while RRP on an assembly built from the spare parts catalogue will only be about twice the RRP of the assembly sold as a unit, that rises to more like four times when you compare actual selling prices after discounts.

Is it supposed to be as expensive to buy two new chainrings(94 bcd 5 bolt 30/46) as a complete new grx crankset? Why?
