  • Definitely it's not a stepped ferrule, no threaded either. The idea of the design is to allow a gentle exit of the cable and outer so the ferrule has a larger outside diameter than the hole on the brake lever body. I am sure I have seen it in other Dia-Compe aero brake levers but cannot confirm which model.

    In the webpage of ISON distribution there are only these three types of ferrules for Dia-Compe road brake levers. (first one from right is for a reverse brake levers, middle one for non-aero road brake levers, and third one apparently for aero brake levers)­h/product.php?part=BSDCLCFA
