  • Ah, so a chassis away from another buggy, plenty to go in the spares box though.
Considering a 2nd buggy, because, well you know, just because. Thoughts please, I prefer 2wd (even when I raced my Cat years ago, I ended up taking the belt n front drive shafts out and running it 2wd), options so far:

    1. Tamiya Super Astute, one of the finest looking buggies ever built, a step up from the very plastic cheaper Tamiyas, can run my 2s LiPo batteries
    2. Schumacher Top Cat, ugly as fook shell, but Schumy quality, with the diff upgrade comes in £30 more than the SA, again can use my LiPo batteries
      And the extreme end
    3. Schumacher Cougar KD, race proven, Schumy quality, modern buggy styling, would need shorty batteries
There's a price range of £200-£260, excluding any other expenses (batteries, brushless, esc, servo, which I would get regardless).
Is the SA much tougher than cheaper Tamiya? Is the Cougar too much buggy? Can I live with the Top Cat shell?
      Thoughts gentlemen please.
  • Funny you should say that.... the plan is to build a Terra Conqueror, which was not one of the bigger Tamiyas but I really like it. A lot of the hop ups it has were standard on the TF, so easy to transfer them.

For your buggy, if your gonna race go modern, they are just better. But they do lack a little something, that soul element that Colagno lovers go on a about, so if your not racing, grab an SA, it’s such a nice looking piece of kit
