• Kinlin for the 700c then, I've been using XR31RTS 28h for heavier loads both luggage and rider and they've been great, still straight despite big dent in the front from a range rover. You could go for less deep versions if you want especially with the extra spokes. 26" might be tougher with no one liking it anymore, halo freedom disc have done me well on my polo bike and are kinlin made I think, there's probably a more modern replacement somewhere though, most MTB stuff will do fine.

  • 24h with triple butted spokes is all you need. 28h is total over kill and is of no benefit. I have had spoke failures with that rim in 32 drilling at the nipple due the spoke entry angle for some reason not being favourable on the higher drilling. Makes no sense I know but there it is.

My daily commutor carry me and load daily with 24 spoke rim brake rear wheel. There 110kg on those wheels at least.

  • Yeah, I'm sure 24 would be fine, mine do off road loaded stuff too but when I get round to redoing the dented front, if I also decide on a dynamo I'll go 24h.
