Cheers for the reply. Watched part of a SA build, looks a few levels up from the DT02 platform, which is what I'd be after, building my Sand Viper was fun, but not challenging enough, only thing really putting me off the SA is, that for a top end 2wd, it still comes with plastic shocks. Guess that's what hop ups are for though, a fettlers dream.

It doesn't have a ball diff either, and as far as I know, you can't retrofit one unless you swap out the entire gearbox with the Astute gearbox (should you find one) and then you lose the slipper clutch.
It's a great buggy though, I get the pragmatism of it, as a result of the Astute's over engineering / complexity & weakness.

Super Astute is pretty tough and pretty simple and the gearbox is good.
