I'm wondering if this thread would serve everyone better as a members only thing?
Like Oliver has said, it doesn't take much for a thief to come on here and check updates.

I'm probably missing a good/obvious reason why it should be in general..

On one hand I'd say yes for the obvious reasons but then people trying to find their stolen bikes or looking here when looking at what they suspect to be a stolen bike wouldn't be able to check

I guess that depends on whether you see this as a community resource or a wider resource for bikes Vs thieves
