How long roughly should the shifters on a 6-speed last? Use the bike 3 times a week for a round trip of 30km. I had the bike serviced today and they replaced the left shifter (+ - one) as it had become faulty after nine months. Just wondering if I should bite the bullet and upgrade to a non-Brompton hub gear system if this is going to happen regularly.
