I still don't really have any idea where 'Black Friday', with the slightly cynical name, comes from (and I won't look it up, ta very much)
To save you the trouble, it's the day between the US Thanksgiving public holiday, which is on a Thursday, and the weekend. For obvious reasons, loads of people take Friday off to make a 4-day weekend, and do something more enjoyable than shopping with the time. That made it a dead day for retail, so shops tried to get people in with discounts. As with everything in the USA (Halloween, hamburger sandwiches, belt-sander racing, stripper tits), they couldn't just leave well alone, they had to go large and make it the revolting spectacle we see today.

I still don't really have any idea where 'Black Friday', with the slightly cynical name, comes from (and I won't look it up, ta very much), but there are some decent deals about today from what I saw just now when I had a quick look. John Lewis has the blue VW Beetle for £50:

Some of the really big Star Wars boxes are getting discounts, too (not that I imagine anyone's in the market for them, and they're still well overpriced).
At Argos, you can get an extra 20% off the Slave I if you quote a code:

(The promotion is here: https://www.argos.co.uk/list/shop-for-star20-at-argos/category:33014616/ )
That should take it down to £66. (I imagine you won't get this one much more cheaply.)
I'm sure there are others.
